what is leakage?
Filtration is one of the most important tasks when cleaning and disinfecting our pool.
Within the filtration system, the most important element is the filter, as it is responsible for retaining the dirt particles in its filter bed, whether sand or glass, as the water circulates through it, to subsequently return the water to the pool crystal clear and suitable for swimming.
When selecting the ideal filter for our pool, several aspects must be taken into account, such as the size of the pool and the power of the pump that will accompany the filter.
In this way, we will be able to optimise the performance of our filtration system to the maximum and enjoy crystal clear water that is suitable for swimming

CHECKS PRIOR TO START-UP
- Once the connections defined in the previous section have been made, unscrew the relevant filter cover and fill the pump pre-filter with water up to the lower level of the suction pipe.
- Check that the pump shaft rotates freely.
- Check that the mains voltage and frequency correspond to those stated on the nameplate of the pump.
- Replace the pre-filter cover and screw it back in place as required.
- Check that the direction of rotation of the motor corresponds to that indicated on the fan cover. On three-phase motors, if the direction of rotation is incorrect, reverse two power supply phases on the protection panel.
- If the motor does not start, try to find the fault by referring to the list of the most common faults and their possible remedies given on the following pages.
nEVER RUN THE PUMP DRY!
STARTING THE PUMP
- Open all gate valves and energise the motor.
- Wait a reasonable time for the pipe to self-prime.
- Check the current draw and adjust the thermal relay accordingly.
PUMP MAINTENANCE
- Pool pumps do not require any specific maintenance. It is however recommended to clean the pump filter periodically, empty the pump body during periods of low temperatures through the drain plug.
- If inactivity persists, it is advisable to empty the pump of water, clean it and replace the filter cover with vaseline on the rubber gasket, making sure that the room where it will be stored remains dry and ventilated.
- In the event of a fault, the user must not tamper with the pump. Contact an authorised technical service.
- When it is time to dispose of the pump, it does not contain any toxic or polluting material.

Saves on washing and water, as well as energy and chemical treatment costs. Its angular shape and silica content improves turbidity by 30%. Generally collects finer particles from water than its silex equivalent. Its non-porous shape means that no lumps or preferential channels are formed. With superior permeability, washing takes less time, saving water, energy and chemical treatments.
It is less susceptible to bio-fouling due to its smooth surface, so bacteria cannot become trapped in cracks and crevices, resulting in less chemical use.
It is less dense than silex, requiring 15% less product.
It has a longer life because it does not degrade and does not need to be replaced.
