The GenSalt OE iQ family is the current line of chlorinators Zodiac. The iQ suffix indicates native connectivity with the iAquaLink app. Available in three productions:

The price difference between the standard version and the pH Evo version (between 420 and 440 €) compensates against the cost of buying peristaltic pump + probe + wiring separately, especially because the factory integration facilitates installation and reduces the installer's time. This is the recommended configuration if you want automatic pH control from the start (which you should want in any pool with a salt chlorinator).

Modules for eXO and OT ranges: continuity for installed farms

If you have an older Zodiac chlorinator from the eXO or OT lines and want to add automatic control without replacing the equipment, Quimipool distributes two specific modules:

• PH Link module (679 €): adds automatic pH dosing to the eXO or OT. It attaches to the existing chlorinator, no replacement required.
• Dual Link Module (995 €): adds automatic pH dosing + automatic ORP chlorine control to the eXO. It is the most complete option for upgrade.

This philosophy of continuity - instead of obsoleting the old ranges and forcing to renew the entire equipment - is typical of brands with a long commercial network. If your eXO or OT has been working well for 7-10 years and you only need the automatic pH, there is no need to change anything else: add the corresponding Link module and that's it. The iAquaLink app is the official mobile interface of Zodiac. It is not only for the chlorinator: it manages the entire ecosystem of Zodiac products and other compatible Fluidra brands:

For the user, this means one app, one account, unified control of the entire pool. If you are only going to install the chlorinator and the rest of the installation is from other brands, iAquaLink is still useful to manage the equipment but you lose the ecosystem effect. As with all equipment connected in the machine room, it is important to ensure good Wi-Fi coverage up to the pool house. If the pool house is far from the house or the concrete wall attenuates the signal, installing a repeater or PLC adapter before the purchase avoids later problems.

The GenSalt OE iQ ranges cover up to 60 m³ of pool (in the 25 g/h model). For larger pools, it is advisable to look outside the catalog Zodiac.

Up a step in warm areas (Andalusia, Levante, Balearic Islands), with slatted cover or high bather load. The Zodiac range is clearly residential domestic; for medium to large community pools or public facilities, it is advisable to look at semi-industrial ranges of other brands of the Fluidra group (such as Astralpool) or Innowater.

Official overhaul service Zodiac

As Hayward, Zodiac offers through Quimipool an official technical service at a closed rate of 89,90 €. It includes equipment diagnosis, cell function test, deep cleaning, sensor check and report issuance. It is the equivalent of an "ITV" of the chlorinator.

Recommended:

• At the beginning of each season if the equipment has been in use for more than 4-5 years
• After breakdown or suspected malfunction, before changing the cell without diagnosis
• On transfer or purchase of property with an installation of unknown origin
• On older eXO or OT ranges before deciding whether to add Link module or replace with GenSalt

Few manufacturers offer this type of after-sales service with a known rate from the beginning. The fact that Zodiac does so (as does Hayward with its 59,90 € overhaul) is a real argument for customers who value professional maintenance with no surprises on the invoice.

If your priority is a well-known brand with an integrated ecosystem of various equipment, Zodiac is the natural choice. If you value a wider range with semi-industrial options, Astralpool within the same Fluidra group comes out ahead. If what matters is maximum cell life, Astralpool with CellWare or Innowater SMC. If you are on a tight budget, BSV BSsalt or Teap are more economical for standard domestic pools.

For replacements and maintenance, under salt chlorinator spare parts you have the general catalog; for specific parts Zodiac, it is advisable to check availability with the technical service. The Zodiac/Fluidra spare parts network is one of the densest in the Spanish market.

Maintenance and service life

Four practical tips:

• If your old eXO or OT has broken down and it is not because of the cell, consider an official overhaul (89,90 €) before discarding the equipment. Often the problem is the control electronics or a sensor, not the cell, and the cost of the repair is much lower than that of new equipment.
• The Wi-Fi connection to the machine room must have a good signal for iAquaLink to work properly. If your router is far from the house, repeater or PLC before purchase.
• The Evo pH probe is consumable: it has a lifetime of 1-2 years with heavy use and is replaced as a part. Calibration every start of season with standard solution.
• In wintering, lower production to 0% but do not switch off: the electronics keep the calibration better with active current, even if it is not producing.
