Maytronics and the brand DolphinTechnical background
Maytronics is an Israeli company founded in 1983 in Kibbutz Yizre'el. It is the world's leading manufacturer of robotic pool cleaners, with a presence in more than 70 countries and a dominant market share in residential pools in Europe, North America and Australia. Dolphin is its main commercial brand for the residential and semi-public segment.
Robots Dolphin are distinguished by three technical elements:
- Autonomous electric operation: are connected to a low voltage power supply (24 V) and do not require connection to the purifier or hose. They filter water through their own internal cartridge or basket system.
- CleverClean navigation algorithms (or similar depending on range): modern models incorporate gyroscopes and pool mapping to optimize coverage and reduce cycle time.
- Compatibility with all types of backgrounds and coatings: liner, painted concrete, vitreous mosaic, ceramic, reinforced PVC, fiberglass. Some models have specific brushes for very smooth surfaces (gresite) or rough concrete.
Official distributor in España: Maytronics Iberia (based in Madrid). Quimipool is an authorized point of sale, which guarantees after-sales service, activation of the official warranty and access to original spare parts.

How to choose a pool cleaner Dolphin
The choice depends on six technical criteria. It is advisable to review all of them before deciding:
- Size and shape of the pool: an 8x4 meter pool with a flat bottom does not require the same robot as a 12x6 meter pool with steps, Roman beach or various depths. The mid-high end models handle irregular shapes better thanks to gyroscopic navigation.
- Type of coating: liner, vitreous china, shotcrete, ceramic, reinforced PVC, fiber. Some families (Active, Zenit) have generic brushes valid for most of them; the C and Pro ranges allow you to choose specific brushes for gresite, ceramic or rough concrete.
- Scope of cleaning required: floor only (Pool UP and the most basic Active range), floor + walls (complete Active, Zenit) or floor + walls + water line (Carrera, E series, Liberty, C and Pro). The range of the water line is one of the main differentials between ranges.
- Frequency of use: residential with weekly use (any range is valid), residential with very frequent use (recommended E, C or Liberty series) or semi-public/community (Pro range is the only one designed for intensive daily use).
- Connectivity and autonomy: do you need to control the robot from your cell phone, program cycles remotely, or do you want to do without the cable? The Liberty range is the only fully wireless range; the "i" models of the E series and the Pro X90i incorporate a wired mobile app.
- Filtration system: the basic models have a rigid basket; the mid-range models have removable cartridges and the premium models combine a fine cartridge and an ultra-fine filter for residues such as pollen or fine algae. The system affects both cleaning quality and ease of maintenance.
Maintenance and spare parts for pool cleaners Dolphin
Robots Dolphin are reliable and durable if properly maintained. Basic maintenance boils down to three actions:
- Cleaning of the filter or basket after each cycle: avoids the accumulation of residues that reduce suction power. In models with paper or cloth cartridge, simply rinse at moderate pressure. In models with fine bag, empty and shake; hose down periodically.
- Adequate storage in low season: the robot should not be permanently submerged outside the cleaning cycles. Remove it from the water, empty it and store it dry in a cool, shaded place. Direct UV radiation damages the rubber and casings over time.
- Periodic inspection of brushes, tracks and impeller: the brushes wear out with use and lose their original geometry (the tines become flattened). The tracks or wheels also wear out, especially in pools with rough bottoms. Check at the beginning of each season.
The usual spare parts for a Dolphin are grouped into five categories:
- Filtration: baskets, paper cartridges, thin cartridges, thin and ultra-thin bags.
- Traction: tracks, wheels, axles, PVA drives.
- Brushing: generic brushes, tile brushes, concrete brushes.
- Electronics and power supply: power supply, floating cable, transformer, remote control.
- Housing and hydraulic elements: covers, seals, impellers, suction and drive motors.
Original spare parts by model: see the complete catalog in the section of spare parts for robot cleaners. If you do not find the exact part for your model or have doubts about compatibility, you can also contract the official technical service or contact our team.
Basic diagnosis of common malfunctions
| Symptom | Probable cause | What to check first | Urgency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Robot does not turn on | Power supply, floating cable or electrical connection | Check that the power supply is live (LED on) and that the cable has no cuts or oxidized connectors | High |
| Turns on but does not move | Traction motor, clogged caterpillar or clogged impeller | Remove robot, check tracks and impeller for clogged debris (leaves, long hairs, plastics) | Media |
| Does not climb the walls | Saturated basket/cartridge, worn brushes, or pressure problem | Clean the filter and check the condition of the brushing. If this is still the case, check the suction motor | Media |
| Filters poorly or leaves particles | Cartridge/bag unsuitable for the type of waste or broken | Change to a fine or ultrafine cartridge. Check that the cartridge is not broken or badly fitted | Download |
| Loses direction | Accelerometer/gyroscope out of calibration or dirty sensor | Restart the robot. If it persists, contact official technical service | High |
| Cycle ends too soon | Incorrect programming, overheating, electrical error | Check the programmed cycle time. Verify that the source does not overheat (keep it in the shade) | Media |
| Accumulates water inside the casing | Damaged main motor seal | Stop use immediately and send for service. Continued use will damage the electronics | Critique |
