Breakdown of the SCP Superpool TT Sand Filter: strainers, lids, manifolds, and gaskets

The Superpool TT is the SCP sand filter installed in thousands of Spanish home pool systems—one of those filters that have been running trouble-free for fifteen years and that, when they finally do need a part, require a twenty-euro replacement. The usual problem isn’t finding the replacement part—it’s knowing what the part you’re holding is called.

This page solves both problems. You’ll find a complete exploded view of the Superpool TT with prices, as well as a parts label guide to help you identify each component: what many people call the “manifold” is actually the strainers and their distributor, and what looks like “the lid” could be the lid, a gasket, or a diffuser, depending on where the water is leaking from.

A useful tip: the Superpool TT is built on the Coral platform, the same technical foundation as the Alaska, Volcán, Neptuno, Ciclón, and Rubí laminated filters. That’s why its replacement parts are the same as those for that family—good news for long-term availability.

Filter diagram: what each part is called

Before the exploded view, here’s the vocabulary to help you avoid ordering the wrong parts:

What you usually say What it’s called in the catalog Where it is
“The manifolds” or “the fingers” Strainers (and the manifold they’re threaded onto) At the bottom, under the sand
“The cover” Cover + cover gasket (separate parts) On top, screwed on
“The top part that breaks up the stream” Upper diffuser Under the cap, at the water inlet
“The gauge” Pressure gauge At the top, threaded
“The bottom faucet” Drain At the base of the body
“The elbows” Upper/lower elbow assembly On the sides, connect to the valve

And here’s the information you need before ordering elbows or a diffuser: the diameter of your filter (400, 500, 600, 750, 780, or 900 mm), which is listed on the label or can be determined by measuring the widest part of the filter body.

Superpool TT Parts List with Prices

Quick Diagnosis: From Symptom to Part

Symptom Most Likely Cause Part
Sand in the pool Cracked or loose strainer Strainer screens that fit your pool; check the tightness of the strainer on the distributor
Leak around the cover Worn gasket Cover gasket
Cracked cover or broken mounts Aging due to sun exposure and chemicals Standard or transparent lid
Pressure gauge not reading Clock malfunction Pressure gauge
Inlet jet eroding the bed Broken diffuser Diffuser with the same diameter as your filter
Leak at the base Damaged drain Complete drain
Leak at the valve connection O-ring, nut gasket, or cup gasket Start with the gaskets (€4–6)
High pressure that doesn’t drop when flushing Filter media depleted or clumped Sand or filter media

The golden rule: backwash based on pressure, not on a schedule

Note the pressure reading on the pressure gauge right after washing the filter—that’s your baseline. When the pressure rises 0.3–0.5 bar above that, it’s time to wash and rinse. Not before (you’ll waste water) and not after (the water will be cloudy and the pump will be overworked).

If the pressure doesn’t return to the baseline after flushing, the filter bed is saturated or clumped: it’s time to replace the media. And if the needle doesn’t move or doesn’t return to zero when the pump is off, the pressure gauge is faulty—€14.54 to replace the filter’s only diagnostic tool.

Can’t identify the part on your Superpool TT? That’s normal: the names of the parts in a sand filter aren’t intuitive. Call us at 91 128 55 90 or send us a message via the contact form with a photo of the part and the filter label (that’s where you’ll find the diameter), and we’ll tell you exactly what it’s called and which one to order. And remember the check that prevents the most headaches: when you change the sand, inspect all the strainers, not just the broken one.
