Lifeguard module for salt chlorinator Davey Ecosalt 2 DPLGEU

Enhance your pool experience

For greater control and improved efficiency, add the Davey Lifeguard for a complete pool control and chemistry system. The Lifeguard controller integrates with the EcoSalt2 chlorinator to provide effortless pool balancing with pH sensor and acid dosing, ORP control, temperature and salt measurement. With energy efficient modes, the salt chlorinator output can be reduced to suit different pool conditions. WiFi enabled with a fully integrated app for remote monitoring and control via smartphones.

Technical Features:

The Davey Lifeguard is not just a meter; it's the brain your pool needs. Here are its technical capabilities:

  • Precise pH control: constantly measures pH and activates the included peristaltic dosing pump to inject acid when the level rises, ensuring chlorine efficiency and bather comfort.
  • ORP (Redox) management: Unlike traditional chlorinators that produce a fixed amount, the Lifeguard measures the oxidation potential (ORP) and commands the EcoSalt2 to produce chlorine only when needed.
  • Native WiFi Connection: Connect to your home network to monitor water status, change modes and receive notifications on the Davey App (iOS and Android) from anywhere.
  • TDS (Salinity) Measurement: Monitors salt concentration (Total Dissolved Solids) to ensure the chlorinator is working in its optimal range and protect the electrolysis cell.
  • Temperature Reading: Integrated temperature sensor that allows to display the degrees of the water directly on the screen or in the App.
  • Dedicated Acid Dosing Pump: Includes a robust peristaltic pump with suction filter and canister weight, designed to be installed safely away from other equipment.
  • Boost Mode (Super Chlorination): Activates a 24-hour cycle at 100% production for heavy use situations or after storms, temporarily ignoring the ORP probe.
  • Cover Mode: Automatically reduces chlorine production by 80% when the cover is closed (detectable by external automation) to prevent overchlorination and protect the liner.
  • Winter Mode: Adjusts the cell current to 85% to protect the equipment when the water temperature drops below 15°C and conductivity drops.
  • Spa mode: Optimizes work cycles for small water volumes, avoiding aggressive chemical peaks.
  • Integrated Manifold: A unique and compact housing for the 3 probes and the acid injection point, ensuring an accurate reading and a clean hydraulic installation.
  • Safety Alarms: Immediate notification of low flow, low salt, or abnormal pH/ORP readings to prevent equipment damage or unsanitary conditions.
  • Multilingual Interface: Easy configuration with intuitive menus available in Spanish, English, French, German and other languages.
  • Firmware Updates: The system is kept up to date with the latest manufacturer's improvements through automatic updates via WiFi.

Davey Lifeguard Frequently Asked Questions

can the Davey Lifeguard work without the EcoSalt2 chlorinator?

No. The Davey Lifeguard is a controller specifically designed to communicate with and control the Davey EcoSalt2 salt chlorinator. It needs to be connected to it via the supplied RJ45 cable to regulate chlorine production.

does the kit include everything needed to dose the pH reducer?

Yes, the kit includes the peristaltic dosing pump, the santoprene tube, the suction weight for the canister, the suction filter and the acid injector. You will only need to purchase the pH (acid) reducer canister separately.

do the probes need to be calibrated?

Yes, to ensure maximum accuracy, it is recommended that the pH and ORP probes be calibrated during initial installation and every 3 months thereafter for preventive maintenance. The kit includes envelopes with calibration solutions for the first start-up.

what happens if the WiFi connection is lost?

The Davey Lifeguard will continue to operate and maintain the pool parameters according to the last saved settings. You will only temporarily lose the ability to remotely monitor via the App until the connection is re-established.

where should the probe holder (manifold) be installed?

The probe housing should be installed in the return pipe, in a horizontal position and always before (upstream of) the EcoSalt2 electrolytic cell, to ensure that the readings are not altered by the production of concentrated chlorine.
