Replacement Parts for the Sugar Valley Hidrolife Chlorinator: RC Cells, Electrodes, and Modules

The Sugar Valley Hidrolife is a salt-based chlorinator with integrated pH and redox control: it not only produces chlorine from salt, but also measures and regulates water parameters. This means it has two types of consumables instead of one—the electrolysis cell and the measurement electrodes —and one important feature to note: its electronics can be expanded with modules.

On this page, you’ll find the complete parts list with prices: the four RC cells (8, 16, 22, and 33 g/h), the bracket and nut, the pH and redox electrodes with their calibration solutions, and the temperature, flow, and salinity modules. As an official Sugar Valley E-Partner, all items are genuine manufacturer products covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Let’s start with the most common question: which RC cell is installed in your unit?

RC Cells: The Number Represents Output

The cell’s name includes its key specification: RC followed by the grams of chlorine per hour. Your unit is equipped with a specific model, and the replacement must be exactly that one.

Cell Output Estimated Price
RC08 Cell 8 g/h €395.00
RC16 Cell 16 g/h €465.00
RC22 Cell 22 g/h €529.00
RC33 Cell 33 g/h €639.00

Where to find it: Your unit’s model name (for example, Hidrolife 22) and the chlorine generator label indicate the output. And since the cells are specific parts that cannot be returned once installed, if you have even the slightest doubt, send a photo of the label via the contact form —we’ll confirm the part number within hours. Plus, shipping is free on any of these four models (they exceed 150 €).

Cell installation: bracket, nut, and cap

Replacement Estimated price What it’s used for
Transparent PVC cell bracket, 63 mm (RC16-RC22-RC33) €139.00 The transparent housing that holds the sensor in the 63 mm pipe. Its transparency allows you to check the condition of the plates without removing them —take advantage of this feature.
Sensor nut (RC16-RC22-RC33-RC50) €19.90 The nut that secures the cell to the holder. Replace it if it is cracked or the thread is stripped.
Blind plug (RC16-RC22-RC33) €32.95 The winterization plug: replaces the cell during the winter so that the electrode remains out of the water while the filtration system continues to circulate.
75-50 mm Conical Reducer €3.90 Adapter for reducing pipe diameter from 75 to 50 mm.
63-50 mm reduction sleeve €2.90 Adapter from 63 to 50 mm.

Measurement and calibration electrodes

The Hidrolife measures and regulates, and to do so, it needs electrodes in good condition. Typical service life: 2–3 seasons.

Replacement Part Estimated price What it's used for
pH electrode (1.5 m) €74.90 Measures the pH of the water, the parameter that governs everything else.
Redox electrode (1.5 m) €87.89 Measures the redox potential (the water’s actual disinfecting power), which allows the system to automatically adjust chlorine production.
pH 7 buffer solution €5.99 First calibration point for the pH electrode.
pH 10 buffer solution €5.99 Second calibration point. You need both: a single-point calibration is only half a calibration.

Replace the solutions every season. An expired solution is the number one cause of failed calibrations—and it makes you suspect the electrode when the electrode is actually working properly.

Modules and electronics: the Hidrolife can be expanded

A unique feature of this product line that many people are unaware of: the electronics support additional modules that can be integrated into the existing system.

Module Approximate price What it offers
Salinity control €575.00 Measures the salt content of the water.
Flow detector €105.00 Detects whether there is actual water flow. Basic safety feature: prevents the unit from operating without water flow, a situation that damages the sensor.
Temperature module €99.00 Measures water temperature, which is useful because production decreases with cold water.
2.8” Color TFT Display €149.00 Replacement or upgrade display.
Remote display mount €63.90 Allows you to move the screen outside the booth to an accessible location.

These modules are also compatible with devices Hayward that share the same electronics. Before ordering one, please confirm compatibility with your specific version by contacting us via the contact form.

Quick Diagnosis: From Symptom to Part

Symptom Most Likely Cause What to Check
Produces little chlorine Low salt, calcified cell, or cold water Measure actual salt level, inspect the plates through the transparent holder, check temperature
Chlorine is 100% insufficient even though all other parameters are within range Cell is worn out RC cell from your production run
The pH on the display does not match the analyzer pH electrode is out of calibration or worn out Calibrate with new solutions (pH 7 and 10); if there is drift, replace the electrode
The redox reading is not stabilizing Redox electrode at the end of its service life Redox electrode
I can't calibrate Solution has expired Use fresh solutions before suspecting the electrode
Flow error with the pump running Dirty flow detector or filter Actual flow rate, filter condition, detector
Leak in the cell housing Nut or gasket on the assembly Nut; check assembly
Illegible or damaged display Display TFT screen

The Three Habits That Double Cell Lifespan

  1. pH maintained at 7.2–7.4. Salt electrolysis naturally raises the pH, and a high pH accelerates calcification on the plates. This is the number one factor
  2. Clean only when scale is visible —and the transparent bracket lets you see it without disassembling anything. Use very dilute acid (1 part acid to 10 parts water, adding the acid to the water) and only while it’s bubbling. Never scrape with metal: the coating won’t regenerate
  3. Winterize with a blind plug. When the water temperature is below ~15 °C, electrolysis produces almost no usable chlorine but continues to wear down the plates. Remove the cell, install the blind plug, and store it clean and dry

Can’t find the replacement part for your Sugar Valley Hidrolife, or unsure which RC cell it uses? Call us at 91 128 55 90 or send us a message via the contact form with a photo of the unit’s label —with the model range and g/h confirmed, we’ll get the part to you right away. Remember that cells cannot be returned: that photo is the best investment you’ll make with your order. And keep in mind the two steps that will extend your unit’s life the most: maintain a pH of 7.2–7.4 year-round and use the blind plug in the winter.
