When to replace each part - actual symptoms

Maintenance that extends the life of your Zodiac MX9

Cleaning the scrubber filter before installing the MX9. The MX9 sends all the dirt it collects to the main filter of the scrubber. If the filter is saturated, the flow rate drops and the MX9 loses traction and suction simultaneously. Wash the filter before each MX9 cycle is the most effective action to make it work well.

Check the propeller before ordering a new motor. When the robot "does not move forward" or "does not vacuum well", before buying new parts, if the propeller is not working properly, open the top cover and check for dirt (hairs, leaves, small stones) blocking the propeller. Sometimes, a simple cleaning will solve the "malfunction" without the need to buy spare parts. This is the first diagnostic step recommended by the technical service Zodiac.

Disconnection of the hose sections when storing the equipment. Do not leave Twist Lock tubes attached for months without use. Disconnecting them at the end of the season allows them to dry out inside, prevents chlorine/salt crystallization in the joints and visibly prolongs the life of the couplings.

Shade and dry storage. As with any pool cleaner, UV rays degrade plastics and rubber. The MX9 should be stored out of the water in the shade (do not leave it at the edge of the pool between uses).

Preventive check for caterpillars at the beginning of each season. The drive belts are the parts that suffer most from the abrasion of the pool liner. In pools of rough stoneware wear faster than on reinforced sheet or smooth paint. If the tracks are smooth or stretched at the beginning of the season, replace them before the robot starts to skid.
