Astralpool Victoria Plus Silent VS (variable speed) Pump Replacement Parts

The Victoria Plus Silent VS is the variable-speed version of the best-selling pump from Astralpool. The “VS” isn’t just for show: it means the motor can operate at different speeds instead of always running at full throttle, which results in much lower electricity consumption and a pump that runs more smoothly—and therefore experiences less wear and tear.

Here is the list of hydraulic parts with prices: prefilter, pump body, seals, connections, and feet. As an official E-Partner of Astralpool, all parts are genuine manufacturer products with their warranty.

A helpful note right off the bat: the VS’s hydraulic system shares several parts with the conventional Victoria Plus Silent, but the electronic component (the variable-speed drive that controls the RPM) is exclusive to the VS and is not treated as a catalog replacement part—as explained in the FAQs.

Before ordering: the power rating determines two parts

You’ll find what you need on the nameplate. The power rating in CV determines:

  • The pump base
  • The connecting fittings

And they’re grouped as follows: 1/2 CV · 3/4 CV · 1 CV on one side, and 1.5 CV · 2 CV · 2.5–3 CV on the other.

The rest of the components (pre-filter, body, gaskets) are the same.

Zone 1 — Prefilter

Replacement Part Approximate price What it does and when to replace it
O-ring 151.7 x 6.99 €17.94 Ensures the lid is airtight. The number one cause of pumps that won’t prime: a worn O-ring allows air to enter even if not a single drop of water comes out.
Prefilter cover €40.75 The transparent cover. Replace if it is cloudy, cracked, or if the seal seat is damaged.
Silent Prefilter Cover Nut €27.95 The two-handle nut that secures the cover. Replace if it is cracked or the handles have loosened.
Pre-filter basket €12.75 The basket that catches leaves and hair. The most commonly replaced part: it breaks when emptied in a hurry or cracks from sun exposure.

Zone 2 — Hydraulic housing

Replacement Estimated price What It Does and When to Replace It
Victoria Plus Silent Pump Assembly €158.99 The complete hydraulic assembly. The solution when the housing is cracked—typically due to ice after a winter without draining the system.
Body O-ring €14.90 Ensures the body remains watertight. Replace it every time you open it.

Zone 3 — Connections

Replacement Estimated Price For what power rating
Flat gasket for fitting, 72x55x2.5 2.78 € Standard. If you notice a leak at the pipe connection, start here.
Connection fittings 1/2 - 3/4 - 1 CV €17.35 1/2, 3/4, and 1 CV motors
Connection fittings 1.5 - 2 - 2.5 CV €15.33 1.5, 2, and 2.5 CV Motors

Zone 4 — Feet per power

Replacement Parts Estimated price For what power
1/2 - 3/4 - 1 CV 48.55 € 1/2, 3/4, and 1 CV motors
1.5, 2, and 3 CV €53.51 1.5, 2, and 3 CV motors

What’s Different About a Variable-Speed Pump

It’s worth understanding this, because it affects how it’s maintained:

  • The motor doesn’t always run at full speed. You can set a low speed for normal filtration hours and increase it only when necessary (filter backwashing, vacuuming with the pool cleaner, shock treatment)
  • Lower RPMs mean lower energy consumption —and quite significantly so, because energy consumption doesn’t decrease proportionally with speed, but much more rapidly
  • Less noise and less wear and tear: a pump that runs smoothly most of the time experiences less wear on its bearings and seals

The downside is that electronics are involved. And that changes two aspects of maintenance: the variable-speed drive enclosure must be well protected from moisture, and in the event of any malfunction that displays an error code on the screen, the solution isn’t to buy replacement parts but to diagnose the problem.

Quick Diagnosis: From Symptom to Part

Symptom Most Likely Cause Part to Check
Does not prime or loses prime Air entering through the prefilter cover O-ring 151.7; then cap and nut
Bubbles inside the prefilter Air entering the suction line O-ring, flat gasket on the fitting, liquid level
Leak at the pipe connection Flat fitting gasket Flat gasket (€2.78) instead of connecting fittings
Leak through the body Body O-ring Body gasket (€14.90) instead of a new body
Crack in the housing after winter Ice inside the body Pump housing
Impeller blades reaching the turbine Cracked strainer basket Pre-filter basket
Opaque cover Sun-induced aging Prefilter cover
Vibration or new noise Support or anchorage Power supply base; check mounting screws
Error code on display Drive electronics Part not listed in the catalog → contact technical support
Does not start at any speed Power supply or drive Electrical panel and connections; then perform diagnostics

Maintenance of a VS

  • Empty the prefilter basket every week during the season. With a variable-speed pump, this is even more important: if you’re running at low speed, a full basket reduces the flow rate below a usable level
  • Lubricate the O-ring with silicone once or twice per season
  • Close the cover using the handles by hand. No tools are needed
  • Protect the electronics: check that the drive enclosure closes securely and that no moisture gets in. This is what separates a healthy pump from a costly breakdown
  • Winterization: Drain the pump housing. Frozen water inside is what causes the housing to crack—and the housing costs €158.99
  • Adjust the speeds for the season: in winter, with a lighter load, you can lower the RPM and reduce operating hours

Can’t find the replacement part for your Victoria Plus Silent VS? Call us at 91 128 55 90 or contact us via the contact form with a photo of the nameplate and the control panel. And keep in mind the two key points about variable-speed pumps: start at high speed after winter storage or after opening the prefilter (it’s hard to prime at low speed), and if you see an error code, diagnose the issue before buying a replacement —don’t replace the electronics blindly.
