The motor's nameplate contains the two pieces of information you need:

• Power in CV: this determines the connection accessories and the cover + fan assembly, which are grouped as follows:
  • 1/2 CV · 3/4 CV · 1 CV on one hand
  • 1.5 CV · 2 CV · 2.5–3 CV on the other
• Capacitor value in mF: essential if that’s what you’re ordering. Don’t choose it by guesswork or based on power —check the specifications

• Empty the pre-filter basket every week during the season. A full basket causes the motor to work against a restriction—and is the indirect cause of half of all thermal failures
• Lubricate the O-ring with silicone once or twice per season: it seals better, the lid opens smoothly, and the seal lasts for years
• Use the official wrench to open and close it. The €19.84 nut can easily strip if forced with a makeshift tool
• Winterization: Drain the pump housing. Frozen water inside is what causes the housing to crack
• Check the terminal box at the start of the season: moisture, rust, or a loose cover can lead to an electrical failure
• Before the first start-up of the season, with the pump disconnected, check that the shaft turns freely by hand
