Original spare parts for filter Coral Neptuno

Original spare parts for Coral Neptuno sand filter (injected polyester, transparent lid with threaded closure, round base): lid nut, lid gasket, lid key, complete lid with cap + gasket, manual drain + gasket, 50 mm wall bushing, complete drain, 1" 1/2 cup selector valve and pressure gauge. Important: the Neptune belongs to the screw cap family, together with QP Cyclone and QP Ruby, with which it shares the specific sealing parts.

The Coral Neptune filter and its screw cap family

The Coral Neptune is a sand filter for residential pools with several distinguishing features:

  • Material: injected polyester, blue color, quality finish.
  • Lid: transparent with threaded closure (without perimeter screws, unlike other ranges Coral).
  • Base: mounted on round base for maximum stability.
  • Design: innovative, with technology that provides high reliability with minimum maintenance.

Within the Coral / Productos QP ecosystem, the Neptune is NOT alone: it is part of a screw cap technical family that shares its specific parts with two siblings:

Screw cap family (Coral / QP)

These three filters share all the specific parts of the threaded seal (cap nut, cap gasket, cap wrench, complete cap, manual purge). This is very useful for buyers: if a specific screw cap part is available for Cyclone or Ruby, it is equally suitable for the Neptune.

Rest of the range Coral / QP (other families)

The Neptune also shares many generic parts with the rest of the filters in the Coral / Productos QP catalog, even though they belong to different sealing families:

  • Coral: Alaska, RPG 2.0, Series 92.
  • Productos QPthe following filter families are available: Volcano, Beige, Red, Blue, Azur, Grana, Cyclone, Ruby.

The generic parts (wall bushing, drain, pressure gauge, cup selector valve) are common to the entire range Coral / QP.

Most requested parts and compatibilities

All parts are original Coral. Before ordering, visually identify if your filter has a screw cap with nut (Neptune, Cyclone, Ruby) or screw cap (rest of the range Coral / QP).

Specific parts screw cap (shared Neptune / Cyclone / Ruby)

Part Compatibilities
Cap nut Coral Neptune, QP Cyclone, QP Ruby
Cover gasket Coral Neptune, QP Cyclone, QP Ruby
Lid key Coral Neptune, QP Cyclone, QP Ruby
Filter cap complete (including cap with gasket) Coral Neptune, QP Cyclone, QP Ruby
Manual drain + gasket Coral Neptune, QP Cyclone, QP Ruby

These are the parts that differentiate the screw cap family from the rest of the Coral / QP filters. The cover gasket is the most rotating part (it gets crushed with repeated tightening year after year): it is usual to replace it every 4-7 seasons.

Generic parts (shared with ALL Coral / QP range)

Part Compatibilities
Bulkhead 50 mm + O-ring Coral Alaska, Neptune, RPG, Series 92 + QP Azur, Beige, Blue, Cyclone, Grana, Red, Ruby, Volcano
Standard complete drain Coral Alaska, Neptune, RPG 2.0, Series 92 + QP Azure, Beige, Blue, Cyclone, Garnet, Red, Ruby, Volcano
Selector valve Coral Cup 1" 1/2 Coral Alaska, Neptune, RPG, Series 92 + QP Azure, Beige, Blue, Cyclone, Garnet, Red, Ruby, Volcano
Pressure gauge Wide range compatibility Coral / QP

This wide compatibility means that the availability of generic parts is excellent: the same parts are sold for 13 different filter models.

When to replace each part: actual symptoms

Symptom Candidate part Check
Lid leaks when filtering Lid seal deformed Replace gasket (more rotating part)
Lid nut not tightened firmly Lid nut with worn threads Replace complete nut
Transparent cover cracked or opaque Filter cover complete (incl. cap + gasket) Direct replacement
Lid wrench broken or does not engage Lid wrench Direct replacement
Continuous dripping from manual drain Manual drain + gasket Direct replacement
Pressure gauge no or rare mark Pressure gauge Direct replacement
Leaks from pipe connections Bulkhead 50 mm + O-ring Replacement of the assembly
Continuous water line through the drain in filtration Star seal of the selector valve Replacement of separate selector valve
Hard or loose selector valve handle Selector valve cup 1" 1/2 Replacement selector valve
Drain leaks through gasket Complete standard drain Replacement
Sand/glass leaks into the pool Damaged internal diffuser or nozzles Open filter for inspection

Maintenance that extends the life of your Neptune Coral

Regular flushing when the pressure gauge rises 0,3-0,5 bar above the clean pressure. Each filter has a normal working pressure (usually between 0.5 and 0.8 bar clean). When it rises 0.3-0.5 bar above, it is time to wash (valve on "Backwash" for 2-3 minutes, then "Rinse" for 30 seconds, back to "Filter"). Do not wait for pressures of 1.5-2 bar: it stresses the internal parts and the cover gasket.

Gentle opening/closing of the lid nut. The Neptune nut is designed for manual tightening with the cap wrench. Tighten firmly by hand as far as it will go, without additional tools. Forcing the seal with extra leverage deforms the cap gasket (the most rotating part) and may crack the nut thread or the filter neck.

Lightly lubricate the cover gasket with technical petroleum jelly. Once a year, apply a little petroleum jelly suitable for EPDM gaskets on the cover gasket before closing. It keeps the gasket elastic and reduces the force required for closing.

Visually clean the transparent lid. The transparency of the lid is one of the advantages of the Neptune: it allows you to see if the sand/glass is clean after washing. Keeping it free of scale aids inspection.

Replacement of sand/filter glass every 4-7 years. Silica sand has a useful life of 4-5 years; filter glass has a useful life of 6-8 years. After this time, the grains lose their retention capacity. Symptom: pressure does not drop to previous clean level after flushing.

Winter storage in frosty areas. Partially empty the filter body or leave the selector valve on "Winter" to prevent frozen water from cracking internal parts. Slightly loosening the cap nut (without removing it) reduces internal pressure during winterization.

Basic diagnosis of common problems

Symptom Most likely cause Action
Lid leaks Deformed lid gasket Replace gasket
Nut difficult to tighten firmly Nut thread worn Replace complete nut
Transparent cover cracked End of cover life Replace complete cover
Pressure rises too fast after flushing Crepins or saturated filter medium Open filter for inspection
Abnormally low flow rate Saturated filter or damaged strainers Flush; if persistent, open
Sand leaking into pool Broken crepins Open filter and replace crepins
Pressure gauge always at zero Pressure gauge damaged or tube clogged Replace pressure gauge
Continuous water trickle down the drain during filtration Star seal of selector valve Replace valve separately

If the problem persists after replacing the candidate part, the technical service can evaluate the complete unit.
