Filter Replacement Parts Astralpool Cantabric: caps, gaskets, pressure gauges, and manifold arms

The Cantabric is Astralpool ’s best-selling residential sand filter and one of the most widely installed in Spanish swimming pools: body injection-molded from engineering plastics, threaded ABS top cover, and diameters ranging from 400 to 900. A filter designed to last for decades—provided its wear parts (lid gasket, pressure gauge, manifold arms) are replaced when necessary.

On this page, you’ll find the complete Cantabric parts list with original Astralpool replacement parts and prices. The key feature of this filter is that several parts vary depending on the diameter—especially in the Cantabric 900, which has its own lid and O-ring—so let’s start there.

As an official E-Partner of Astralpool, all replacement parts are genuine manufacturer parts backed by the manufacturer’s warranty. And if you have any questions about identifying a part, our technical support team can help with just a photo.

First: What is the diameter of your Cantabric?

The Cantabric is manufactured in several diameters (400, 500, 600, 750, and 900 mm), and two parts depend on this:

  • Cantabric 400 to 750 → transparent lid and standard O-ring
  • Cantabric 900 → transparent cap and O-ring specific to the 900 model

The diameter is indicated on the filter label or can be determined by measuring the widest part of the filter body. Thirty seconds that save you a return.

Cantabric Exploded View by Sections

Section 1 — Screw-on cap and seal

Replacement Part Estimated price When to replace
Transparent cap with O-ring (400-500-600-750) €29.90 The top sight glass, including the gasket, for all diameters except 900. Replace if it is cloudy, cracked, or makes a creaking noise when screwed on.
Transparent cap with O-ring (900) €56.89 The same part in the specific size for the Cantabric 900.
O-ring €8.25 The O-ring for the cap, for diameters 400–750. The filter’s No. 1 replacement part: if there’s any leakage from the cap, start here.
Cantabric 900 O-ring €18.90 The O-ring specifically designed for the 900 model—not interchangeable with the standard O-ring.
Cantabric Lid Nut €26.75 The large threaded ring that secures the cap. Replace if it is cracked or the thread slips.
Split threaded cap €145.90 The complete upper cap assembly.
Open threaded lid €25.89 The open version of the threaded cap.
Centering ring €9.56 Centers the cap assembly. Check it if the cap is difficult to screw on or does not seat evenly.

Zone 2 — Control and Purge

Replacement Part Estimated Price When to Replace
Complete pressure gauge €24.90 The pressure gauge assembly with its mounting bracket. Replace if the needle does not return to zero, is stuck, or there is water in the sight glass.
1/8” Pressure Gauge, 3 kg/cm² €9.90 Just the gauge, if the mount is in good condition. The €10 repair restores the filter’s control panel.
1½” Sand Drain €8.11 The bottom drain. Replace if it leaks or the plug is loose—must be watertight for winter storage.

Zone 3 — Interior: the collector arms

In the Cantabric model, the function of the strainers is performed by 3/4” radial collector arms threaded onto the central manifold. If sand appears in the pool, this is where the problem lies:

Replacement Part Estimated price What it’s used for
3/4” 225 mm intake arm €2.61 The standard slotted arm. Replaces any arm with cracked slots.
3/4” 100 mm collector arm (extension) €2.61 The short extension section to complete the radius based on diameter.
3/4” Manifold Connector Sleeve €1.75 The connector between manifold arm sections.

At €2.61 per arm, the recommendation is clear: when you open the filter and find a broken one, replace the entire set —the others are just as old, and opening the filter accounts for 90% of the work.

The pressure gauge: diagnosing the entire system with a single needle

Record the pressure with the freshly cleaned filter: that’s your baseline.

  • Ifit rises 0.3–0.5 bar above the reference → dirty filter bed: backwash + rinse via the selector valve
  • If the pressuredoesn’t drop after washing → saturated or compacted sand: time to replace the filter media
  • Abnormally low pressure → blockage upstream of the filter: skimmer basket or pump prefilter
  • Needle stuck or not returning to zero → the pressure gauge is faulty, not the filter

Quick diagnosis: from symptom to part

Symptom Most likely cause Part to Check
Sand in the pool Cracked or loose return arm Skimmer arms (replace the set)
Leak around the cover Worn O-ring O-ring (the one for the 900 if your filter is the 900)
The cap is difficult to screw on or does not seat properly Damaged centering ring or nut Centering ring, cap nut
Opaque or cracked sight glass Cap deteriorated by sun exposure and chemicals Transparent cap of the correct diameter
The pressure gauge does not register Faulty gauge 1/8” pressure gauge (or complete if the mount is damaged)
Leak from the bottom bleed valve Damaged drain 1½” sand drain
High pressure that does not subside during backwashing Media depleted Sand or filter glass

Cantabric Maintenance Tips

  • Tighten the screw-on cap by hand. Never use a tool: the ABS and O-ring seal when tightened firmly by hand. Using a wrench will only cause cracks costing €30–€146
  • Lubricate the O-ring with silicone once per season: it seals better and the cap screws on smoothly
  • Store for the winter with the drain valve open: frozen water inside the housing is the classic cause of winter damage
  • When changing the media (every 4–6 seasons, or sooner if the pressure doesn’t drop during backwashing): check the collector arms one by one and the drain valve. An open filter means a costly repair—while you’re at it, inspect the filter media

Can’t find the replacement part for your Cantabric, or are you unsure whether to choose the standard size or the 900 size? Call us at 91 128 55 90 or send us a message via the contact form with a photo of the filter label (model and diameter)—that way, we’ll get the right part the first time. And remember the Cantabric golden rule: tighten the cap by hand—the €8.25 O-ring does the job that no wrench can.
