Avady PRIM pH dosing pump replacement parts: tube, head kit, and probes
The PRIM pH from Avady Pool is a peristaltic dosing pump for automatic pH control: it measures pH using a probe, and when the value deviates, a roller rotor squeezes a flexible tube to inject the pH corrector.
Maintenance focuses on three components: the peristaltic tube (the most frequently replaced consumable), the pH probe (which determines whether the unit operates with accurate or inaccurate data), and the injection fitting (where the chemical enters the tubing).
Here they are with prices, plus the most frequently asked question about this pump: should you buy a replacement tube or a complete head kit? As an official E-Partner of Avady, all products are genuine manufacturer parts with a warranty.

Pump Head: Single Tube or Complete Kit
This is the purchasing decision for this pump, and it depends on the condition of the impeller housing (the rotor that holds the rollers):
| Replacement part | Estimated price | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| 6 x 9 mm peristaltic tube | €34.94 | Tube only. The right choice if the rollers spin freely and the head is in good condition—which is usually the case during routine maintenance. |
| Impeller holder kit + peristaltic tube + front cover | €85.90 | The complete set. The option to choose when the rollers turn with difficulty, the impeller holder is worn, or the front cover is damaged. |
How to tell in thirty seconds: open the head and spin the impeller holder by hand. If it turns smoothly and the rollers are round and free of flat spots, the tube is loose. If you notice stiffness, friction, or the rollers show wear, get the kit—a worn-out impeller housing will wear out a new tube in weeks, and you’ll end up paying twice.
pH probes: choose based on cable length
| Probe | Length | Approximate price |
|---|---|---|
| pH electrode Seko | 1.5 m | €74.90 |
| pH electrode Hanna | 2 m | €76.90 |
| pH electrode Seko | 5 m | €78.90 |
Measure the actual length of the cable from the probe holder to the instrument, following the route it will take. There’s a €4 difference between the three lengths, so it’s not worth cutting corners: a taut line puts strain on the connector and that’s where it fails. Typical lifespan: 2–3 seasons.
Circuit: injection, macaroni, and intake
| Replacement part | Estimated price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Fuel injection fitting (umbrella) | €22.91 | The point where the product enters the pipe, with a check valve. Replace if it leaks, is clogged with limescale, or water flows back toward the pump. |
| 4x6 Suction/Discharge Hose | €1.29/m | The tubing that carries the product from the bottle to the pump and from the pump to the pipe. Sold by the meter: measure your sections before ordering. |
| PVC Pipe Collar 50-1/2” | 2.59 | The 50 mm pipe fitting where the probe holder or injection point is mounted. |
| pH 7 buffer solution | €5.99 | The calibration standard. Replace it every season: an old solution calibrates poorly. |
Calibrating the PRIM: the most frequently asked question in the manual
Calibration is the process of teaching the pump what a known pH value corresponds to. Without calibration, the reading drifts, and the equipment dispenses acid based on inaccurate data.
When: at the start of each season, every 2–3 months of use, whenever you replace the probe, and when the display does not match your reference analyzer.
How, in essence:
- To calibrate, remove the probe from the probe holder
- Rinse the tip with clean water and gently dry it, without rubbing the bulb
- Immerse it in the standard solution and wait for the reading to stabilize
- Confirm the calibration in the device menu
- Rinse, reassemble the probe, and resume dosing
Two warnings: the solution expires (the number one cause of failed calibrations), and the probe must not be allowed to dry out —store it with the cap on and in preservative solution if you disassemble it.

Quick Diagnosis: From Symptom to Part
| Symptom | Most Likely Cause | What to Check |
|---|---|---|
| Dosing is lower than programmed | Hardened peristaltic tube | 6x9 tube; also check the rollers |
| Pumps but does not draw in fluid | Clogged floor filter, air, or expired tubing | Foot filter, macaroni, tube |
| Product is leaking from the head | Punctured hose | Hose; if the impeller housing is damaged, replace the entire assembly |
| Noise or stiff rotation in the pump head | Worn impeller housing | Complete impeller housing kit |
| The pH reading on the display does not match the analyzer | Probe is out of calibration or worn out | Calibrate with a new solution; if it drifts, replace the probe |
| I can't calibrate it | Solution has expired | Use a new solution before suspecting the probe |
| Leak at the injection point | Fitting clogged or worn out | Injection fitting |
| Water flowing back toward the pump | Check valve on the fitting | Injection fitting |
| Yellowed or stiff hoses | Chemical aging | 4x6 hose (replace both at the same time) |
Maintenance That Extends the Life of the PRIM
- Flush the system with clean water at the end of the season. Leaving acid to sit for six months is what hardens the tubing and causes the injection point to crystallize. This is the single most effective step for preventing breakdowns
- Check the foot filter every time you change the water tank
- Keep the probe moist if you disassemble the unit
- Replace the calibration solution every season
- Check the rollers every time you replace the tube: if they don’t turn freely, the new tube will only last a few weeks
- Always weargloves and goggles when opening the print head
Can’t find the replacement part for your Avady PRIM, or are you unsure whether to get the loose tube or the kit? Call us at 91 128 55 90 or send us a message via the contact form with a photo of the unit, its label, and the open pump head —with that, we’ll let you know if your impeller housing can handle another cartridge or if you need a complete kit. And keep these two rules in mind to keep this pump running smoothly: calibrate it at the start of each season with fresh solution, and flush the circuit with clean water when shutting it down.
