Replacement parts for the Scipy pool cleaner robot (Winny · Productos QP)
The Scipy is the pool cleaning robot from Winny, part of the Productos QP: an electric robot powered by rollers and belts that has been cleaning Spanish residential pools for years. Its exploded view is brief yet very revealing—almost all the parts are related to the drive system, because that’s where most of its breakdowns occur.
Here are the original replacement parts with prices and, most importantly, the answer to the most common question about this robot: “It works but doesn’t move.” Spoiler: it’s almost always a belt that costs €10.90.

Zone 1 — Traction: where the Scipy fails
| Replacement Part | Estimated price | What It Does and When to Replace It |
|---|---|---|
| Drive belt to the drive shaft | €10.90 | Transfers power from the motor to the drive system. If the robot makes noise but doesn’t move forward, start here: it’s the cheapest part and the one that fails most often. |
| Roller drive belt | €31.90 | Transmits motion to the rollers. Replace if it is worn, stretched, or broken. |
| Roller | €27.90 | The roller that contacts the floor and walls. Replace if the surface is smooth and the robot is slipping. |
| Roller Bearing | €4.90 | The bearing on which the roller rotates. If the roller does not rotate freely or makes noise, check this before replacing the roller. |
| Roller bracket | €6.90 | The part that holds the roller assembly in place. Replace it if it is cracked or loose. |
The belts and rollers must be replaced in pairs. Replacing only the worn side causes the drive to become unbalanced, and the robot will end up spinning in circles.
Zone 2 — Filtration
| Replacement Parts | Approximate Price | What it does and when to replace it |
|---|---|---|
| Filter basket | €27.90 | Traps the dirt that’s been vacuumed up. Clean it after each cycle; replace it when the mesh is torn or warped—a broken basket returns dirt to the pool and causes the motor to work harder. |
Zone 3 — Electronics
| Replacement Part | Estimated Price | When it comes into play |
|---|---|---|
| Scipy Control Box | €249.00 | The robot’s power supply and control electronics. This is the expensive part: run diagnostics before buying it —many “the robot won’t turn on” issues are caused by a cable, connector, or power outlet. |
“It works but doesn’t move”: the complete diagnosis
This is the most common problem with the Scipy, and here’s the good news: it can almost always be fixed for less than €35. Check the following in this order:
- Can you hear the motor? If you can hear the motor but the robot isn’t moving forward, the problem is with the drive system, not the electronics. Go to step 2
- Drive belt to the motor shaft (€10.90): this is the first thing to check. Open it up and see if the belt is broken, stretched out, or has come off its housing
- Roller drive belt (€31.90): if the previous one is fine, check this one
- Do the rollers turn by hand? If they’re stiff, the problem is with the bearings (€4.90) or there are hairs and fibers wrapped around the shaft. Clean it before buying anything
- Crackedroller bracket: it creates play, causing the belt to come off
- If the motor doesn’t even make a sound: then yes, check the power supply—cable, connector, outlet, and, finally, the control box
The costly mistake: assuming the electronics are dead (€249) when the problem is actually a €10.90 belt. The symptoms tell the difference: if the motor makes a sound, the electronics are working.
Quick Diagnosis: From Symptom to Part
| Symptom | Most Likely Cause | What to Check |
|---|---|---|
| It makes noise but doesn't move | Broken or loose drive belt | Drive belt; then traction belt |
| Moves in circles | Unbalanced traction | Pairs of belts and rollers |
| Slips, does not climb walls | Rollers worn smooth | Rollers (both) |
| Noise or stiff rotation in one roller | Worn bearing or hair wrapped around it | Clean the shaft; then clean the bearing |
| Play in the roller assembly | Cracked housing | Roller housing |
| Does not collect debris | Dust basket clogged or with a broken mesh | Clean or replace the basket |
| Gradually losing power | Basket is saturated or impeller has fibers in it | Clean the basket after each cycle; check the impeller |
| Does not turn on or make a sound | Power supply | Cable, connector, outlet; finally, control box |
| Runs intermittently; stops when the cord is moved | Internal cable break | Cable and connector |
Maintenance that prevents almost all breakdowns
- Clean the basket after each cycle. It’s the most cost-effective maintenance there is: a clogged basket overloads the motor and puts a strain on the belts
- Check the roller shaft every month: hair, roots, and fibers get tangled there and are the leading cause of seized bearings
- Remove the robot from the water when you’re done. Constant submersion causes rubber parts, belts, and rollers to deteriorate much faster. Store it in the shade
- Stretch out the cable and coil it in wide loops after each use: this prevents internal breaks caused by twisting
- Pre-season check: inspect belts, rollers, and bearings before the first swim. If anything is nearing the end of its life, replace it before it fails in August
- Rinse with fresh water at the end of the season, especially if using salt chlorination
Is your Scipy not moving, spinning in circles, or can’t you find a part? Call us at 91 128 55 90 or reach out via the contact form with a photo of the robot and a description of exactly what it’s doing (whether the motor is running, whether the rollers are turning): this will help us narrow down the problem before you buy anything. And remember the rule that saves you the most money with this robot: if the motor is running, the electronics are fine —check the belts.
