Sugar Valley Salt Chlorinators

Sugar Valley salt chlorinators: five combined treatment lines, from pure electrolysis to UV+hydrolysis+ionization

Sugar Valley is probably the most technically interesting brand in the saline electrolysis portfolio of Quimipool, and at the same time the most difficult to choose if you don't understand what each of its five lines does. While almost all brands on the market (BSV, , Innowater, , Idegis, teap, Davey, Zodiac) compete exclusively with pure salt chlorinators and at most add automatic pH/ORP control, Sugar Valley goes a step further and offers five families scaled by water treatment typeFrom basic saline electrolysis to combinations of electrolysis + hydrolysis + ionization Cu/Ag + UV in the same equipment. It is the brand you turn to when the customer asks for "the best there is" regardless of cost, or when a specific pool has specific problems (persistent algae, chlorine allergies, chloramines) that a conventional salt chlorinator does not solve.

In addition, Sugar Valley shares electronic platform with Hayward in Europe (the accessory kits are the same and the control app is Vistapool in both brands), which provides consolidated spare parts availability and allows some compatibility between the two families. This page lists the 44 products which distributes QuimipoolThe five lines of treatment, the optional accessories shared with Hayward and specific spare parts for Cu/Ag electrodes.

Why Sugar Valley and for whom

Three features make Sugar Valley a unique proposition in the market:

• Combined treatments in a single unit. No other brand in the Quimipool offers this variety of integrated technologies. Sugar Valley combines salt electrolysis + hydrolysis + ionization with copper and silver electrodes (Cu/Ag) + UV irradiation in different scaled lines. For pools with specific problems that pure salt electrolysis does not solve, this technical variety is what differentiates a project that works from one that is still struggling.
• Shared platform with Hayward. As we have already seen in the Hayward, both brands use the same electronic base for accessories and application. The pH (199 €), ORP (219 €) and Vistapool Wi-Fi module (269 €) kits work on both brands. This means that if your maintainer or your installer is already familiar with Hayward, is de facto familiar with Sugar Valley.
• Five clear levels of treatment. Sugar Valley is one of the few brands that structures its catalog not by chlorine production (g/h) but by water treatment level. You choose first which technology you want (electrolysis only, electrolysis + ionization, hydrolysis + ionization, all + UV) and then the production within that family. It is a very clear approach once you understand the matrix.

It is the natural choice for homeowners with problematic pools (recurrent algae, chlorine allergies, chloramine persistence), premium customers who want the most advanced technology available, installers already working with Hayward and want to expand their offerings without changing their technical ecosystem, and wellness pools or spa-pools where subjective water quality matters more than cost.

The five Sugar Valley families: how to distinguish between them

We go through each family in detail.

Hidrolife: the pure salt chlorinator

The line Hidrolife is Sugar Valley's "conventional" range: salt electrolysis without added treatments, comparable to the offer of any other brand in the catalog. Four models available:

• SAL16NG (1,499 €): 16 g/h, pools up to 50 m³ (1,499 €): 16 g/h, pools up to 50 m³ (1,499 €)
• SAL22NG (1,699 €): 22 g/h, up to 80 m³, Top Sales Hidrolife
• SAL33NG (2.199 €): 33 g/h, up to 120 m³
• SAL50NG (3,199 €): 50 g/h, up to 200 m³ (3,199 €): 50 g/h, up to 200 m³ (3,199 €)

Compared with equivalent chlorinators of other brands: price somewhat higher than Hidrolife 22 g/h vs BSV Evo Touch 25 g/h or a Innowater SMC 21 g/h, but compensated by the technical quality of the equipment, the native Vistapool app and the integration with the platform Hayward. It's the choice if you want "Sugar Valley without paying the extra for advanced technologies".

Oxilife: Hydrolysis + Electrolysis

The hydrolysis is a different technology from conventional electrolysis: instead of needing high salt concentrations (4-6 g/l), hydrolysis works with very low salinity (similar to the Low Salt line of BSV or Aquark's Mr. Pure Genius) by generating active chlorine from the water itself with the help of minimal traces of salt. Combined with electrolysis, the Oxilife system generates powerful oxidants (free chlorine + hydroxyl radicals) without the need to dose salt in high concentrations.

Four models available:

• OX0NG (1,449 €): hydrolysis level 8
• OX1NG (1,649 €): hydrolysis level 15
• OX2NG (2,349 €): hydrolysis level 30, Top Sales Oxilife
• OX3NG (3,349 €): hydrolysis level 50

When do you choose Oxilife over Hidrolife? When the customer wants much softer water on the skin without giving up effective disinfection, or when the metal components of the pool (ladders, old light bulbs, heat exchangers) are sensitive to salt corrosion. Hydrolysis drastically reduces the amount of salt in the water, which improves the swimming sensation and prolongs the life of the metal components.

Bionet: electrolysis + Cu/Ag ionization

The ionization with copper and silver electrodes is a very effective auxiliary technology against persistent algae and bacteria. Copper has a powerful algaecide effect and silver has a bactericidal effect; together, they complement the action of chlorine generated by electrolysis. The Bionet line combines both technologies in a single unit.

Four models available:

• BIO16NG (1,999 €): 16 g/h electrolysis + ionization Cu/Ag
• BIO22NG (2,599 €): 22 g/h + ionization, Top Sales Bionet
• BIO33NG (2,899 €): 33 g/h + ionization
• BIO50NG (4,599 €): 50 g/h + ionization

When Bionet? Typical cases: pools surrounded by trees and vegetation with chronic algae problem; pools in warm areas with high biological pressure; pools with intensive use where electrolysis alone falls short. Cu/Ag electrodes are consumables (service life of 2-4 years) and the replenishment is in the catalog (215 € for 4 electrodes, 119 € for 2). This should be taken into account in the total cost of ownership.

Aquascenic: hydrolysis + Cu/Ag ionization

The family Aquascenic combines the best of Oxilife (hydrolysis with low salinity) and the best of Bionet (Cu/Ag ionization). It is the proposal for premium pools no need for high salt and with maximum resistance to algae. Three models:

• Aquascenic HD1NG (2.499 €): 15 A electrolysis + ionization
• Aquascenic HD2NG (3.529 €): 30 A + ionization
• Aquascenic HD3NG (5.279 €): 50 A + ionization

Note: Aquascenic models are identified by electrolysis intensity (A) rather than by g/h of chlorine because the generation is more distributed (hydrolysis + ionization work in parallel). This is a manufacturer's choice consistent with the type of technology.

When Aquascenic? When the customer wants water very soft on the skin (Oxilife low salinity) and at the same time enhanced algae protection (Cu/Ag from Bionet). It is common in wellness pools, spa-pools, natural pools treated with reduced chlorine and premium projects where subjective water quality is more important than price.

UVscenic: the most comprehensive treatment on the market

The line UVscenic is Sugar Valley's top bet: combination of UV + hydrolysis + low-salinity electrolysis in one unit. Ultraviolet radiation destroys resistant microorganisms and, above all, decomposes chloramines (the chemical compounds responsible for chlorine odor, eye irritation and itchy skin). Three models:

• UVscenic UV16NG (2.899 €): UV + hydrolysis + electrolysis for 16 g/h
• UVscenic UV33NG (4,199 €): for 33 g/h
• UVscenic UV50NG (5,999 €): for 50 g/h

When UVscenic? For pools where the customer wants "the best there is" with no budget restrictions, pools with chronic chloramine problems (lots of lingering chlorine odor), indoor pools where ventilation is limited and chloramines build up, or premium new construction projects. The UV is a consumable: the lamp has an indicative life of 8.000-12.000 hours and is replaced periodically.

Shared platform with Hayward: real advantage

The technical detail you should know: in Europe, Sugar Valley and Hayward share the same electronic platform for accessory modules. For the customer, the consequences are:

• The pH (199 €) and ORP (219 €) kits work on both brands. If you come from Hayward and migrate to Sugar Valley, you don't throw away the old kits.
• The Vistapool Wi-Fi module (269 €) and the Ethernet module (479 €) are the same for both brands. One app, one interface.
• Vistapool app manages chlorinators Hayward AquaRite NEO and Sugar Valley chlorinators with the same interface. Useful for maintainers with mixed fleets.

This is common platform engineering, not marketing. The difference between the two brands is in branding, catalog (Sugar Valley has more technical variety) and positioning (Sugar Valley sells itself as a European technical brand; Hayward as an American multinational with a global network).

Accessories and configuration: kits, spare parts, connectivity

Like any Sugar Valley chlorinator it can be combined with the following optional accessories:

• PH control kit (199 €): dosing pump + probe for automatic pH regulation
• Redox control kit (219 €): Redox probe for automatic adjustment of production according to real chlorine
• Vistapool Wi-Fi module (269 €): connectivity and control from cell phones
• Ethernet module (479 €): wired connection when Wi-Fi is not feasible
• Temperature module (99 €): continuous water temperature reading
• Flow detector (105 €): additional safety against overchlorination
• Salinity control (575 €): permanent digital readout of salt concentration

Specific spare parts for the line with Cu/Ag ionization:

• Cu/Ag electrodes, 4 units (215 €): complete set for replacement
• Cu/Ag electrodes, 2 units (119 €): half replenishment
• Electrode fixing nut (24,74 €): additional consumables

For cell replenishment and other components, please refer to salt chlorinator spare parts or contact the technical service.

Sugar Valley vs. other salt chlorinator brands

Each brand has its place in the market:

• Sugar Valley is the option with greater variety of treatment technologies of the market. Five lines scaled from pure electrolysis to UV+hydrolysis+electrolysis. Good choice for problematic pools or premium projects.
• Hayward is the sister brand of the platform. They share accessory kits and Vistapool app. Hayward is positioned more as a global American multinational; Sugar Valley as a European technology company with a broader portfolio.
• Astralpool is the other major multinational, with the widest range and the top-of-the-line CellWare 18,000 h cell.
• Innowater is the consolidated Spanish option with long-life cells (14,000 h in SMC).
• BSV provides hardware modularity (upgrade Evo Basic → Evo Touch without any works) and Low Salt line.
• Idegis native Wi-Fi connectivity and Scalable line.
• Aquark/QP offers inverter and all-in-one technology (pH + ORP + WiFi + low salinity as standard).
• Zodiac has a wide range with iAquaLink app integrated into the Fluidra ecosystem.
• Teap is the simple Valencian option, sized per m³ of pool.
• Davey is the Australian option with 90 years of history and Lifeguard module.

If your priority is water with maximum technical quality and combined treatments, sugar Valley UVscenic or Aquascenic are the best option on the market. If conventional salt electrolysis is enough for you, Hidrolife competes with any other brand but you pay a premium for the Sugar Valley branding that may not compensate; in that case, BSV, , Innowater or Teap are less expensive for the same functional result.

Maintenance and considerations

Five practical tips specific to Sugar Valley:

• Cu/Ag electrodes are consumable (Bionet, Aquascenic, UVscenic). Useful life of 2-4 years. Schedules replacement as part of normal equipment maintenance.
• The UVscenic UV lamp is consumable. Indicative useful life 8.000-12.000 hours; periodic replacement recommended every 2-3 years of intensive use.
• Cu/Ag ionization can generate greenish or bluish stains if pH levels are not maintained correctly. The automatic pH control (Kit 199 €) is not optional in pools with Bionet/Aquascenic: it is practically indispensable.
• If your Wi-Fi does not reach the machine room properly, if you are using an Ethernet module, consider the Ethernet module (479 €) instead of Wi-Fi (269 €). Wired connection is always more reliable than wireless for critical equipment.
• In pools with combined treatment (Bionet, Aquascenic, UVscenic), maintenance is somewhat more complex than in a pool with a standard chlorinator. It is advisable to reserve the Annual technical review with authorized service, especially at the end of the season to validate the condition of electrodes and UV lamps.

As in any installation with saline electrolysis, recommended water grounding (Pool Terre 109-139 € according to diameter) to neutralize eddy currents. And in the ranges with Cu/Ag ionization it is also advisable to regularly check the condition of the electrodes with a good pool photometer that measures copper and silver in addition to the standard parameters.
