BWT (Best Water Technology) is Europe's largest water treatment group, headquartered in Mondsee (Austria) and present in more than 80 countries. The pool division covers everything from chemicals to advanced filtration, salt chlorination and robotic pool cleaners. In the professional sector, its range of robots is used in swimming pools of hotels, wellness centers, spas and communities of a certain size.

The technical hallmark of robots BWT in the face of Dolphin o Zodiac is the bag filtration (instead of rigid basket or cartridge): the entire Aquarius-Magnum-Ultramax range uses microfiber filter bags that retain finer particles and increase the filtration surface. The downside: the bags must be washed, it is not enough to empty a rigid basket under the tap.

Another feature common to the premium range: all incorporate transport trolley (adding to the price of the robot the accessory that in other brands is usually sold separately) and remote control for manual cycle control.

BC Hydraulic Vacuum Cleaners (inlet)

This line is suction hydraulicsThe suction head: it depends on the power of your filtration pump and is connected to the skimmer or to the specific intake. They are not automatic in the modern sense (they do not patrol the pool on their own); they are vacuum heads that are operated with a telescopic handle and hose. They are designed to complement the purifier in small pools or as a punctual tool for intensive cleaning in pools where the automatic robot does not reach a certain area.

Automatic electric robots (premium)

All premium models BWT the equipment includes: microfiber bag filtration, transport trolley, remote control, double motor (one for track traction and the other for suction) and swivel system to prevent cable coiling.

How to choose a pool cleaner BWT

The first thing to define is the type of use:

For occasional vacuuming or to complement the purification system, models BC02/30/50 are the logical range. Do not expect automatic operation: they are handle operated.

For complete automation in intensive residential use, the range starts with the Aquarius (1,690 €). Although the investment is high compared to Dolphin mid-range (~700-900 €), what you are paying for is: bag filtration with retention of finer particles, trolley included, control included and construction sized for very frequent use.

For large pools (more than 15 m) or semi-public use (communities, small hotels, residential spas), the Magnum range and especially the Ultramax is appropriate. Here you enter directly into the professional range and the price reflects construction and durability.

Junior vs PVA: within Magnum and Ultramax, the "Junior" version covers bottom only and the "PVA" version adds wall coverage with a specific PVA foam brush (best for tile, ceramic and rough coatings). If your pool has walls that need active cleaning, the PVA version is the right choice.

• Residential swimming pool 8-12 m with intensive use: Aquarius (1,690 €).
• Residential swimming pool 12-15 m with walls that get dirty: Magnum PVA (3,290 €).
• Semi-public or large residential pool up to 20 m: Ultramax Junior (5,890 €).

Maintenance and spare parts BWT

Bag filtrationMicrofiber filter bags should be washed after each cycle (garden hose, no harsh chemicals). When they start to become permanently saturated or show tears, they must be replaced. This is the most frequent wear part in the Aquarius-Magnum-Ultramax range.

BrushesPVA models are equipped with a specific PVA foam brush, which also wears out and must be replaced when it loses firmness. Junior models are equipped with standard PVC brushes.

Tracks and propellerPeriodic inspection for wear or clogged debris (long hairs, fibers, plastics).

Floating cable with swivelThe swivel unit (which prevents the cable from winding up) is a maintenance point. If you notice resistance when turning or the cable starts to coil on each cycle, it is time to check it.
