Technical characteristics

what is UVSCENIC?

The UVscenic system uses two disinfection principles for a perfect water sterilisation, without adding any chemical product. On the one hand oxidants are generated through electrolysis
at low salinity (from 1.5 g/NaCl), on the other hand the water is subjected to UV-C radiation which additionally helps to neutralise bacteria, viruses and other primary organisms.

  • THE INNOVATIVE COMBINATION OF ULTRAVIOLET RAYS AND LOW-SALINITY ELECTROLYSIS.
  • Their combined action guarantees perfect water disinfection.
  • It generates a totally natural chlorination-flocculation-anti-algae cycle.
  • Particularly suitable for small pools.

Advantages

  • CLEARLY MORE INNOVATIVE.
  • World novelty.
  • Maintains the physico-chemical characteristics of the water.
  • Ultraviolet lamps last up to 9,000 hours.
  • Requires less salt dissolved in the water.
  • Eliminates the consumption of chlorine and chemical products.
  • Protects human health and the environment.

Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 253.7 nanometres, through a process of photolysis and photo-oxidation, destroys organic matter.

Thanks to the DOUBLE length of the housing of our system, the water is exposed to a high dose of UV-C radiation for a longer period of time.

The ABS material of the housing prevents dirt from adhering and withstands salt concentrations of up to 10 gr NaCl/l.

They destroy chloramines and eliminate LEGIONELLA without changing the physico-chemical characteristics of the water. The low-pressure UV-C lamps supplied by Philips have a life of up to 9,000 hours.

Principle of operation

HYDROLYSIS AND/OR LOW SALINITY ELECTROLYSIS

Water is composed of 2 parts hydrogen and 1 part oxygen (H2O). Hydrolysis means, etymologically, decomposition by water. Hydrolysis is a process to generate hydrogen and oxygen by means of electricity and water.

When electric current passes through water, the chemical bond is broken, negative charges or oxygen ions migrate to the positive electrode (anode). The positively charged hydrogen ions are attracted to the negative electrode (cathode). The decomposition that takes place is as follows:

Electrical energy +2 H2O --> 2 H2 + O2

This results in an extra negative element, as the number of electrons in the combination exceeds the number of protons by 1. It is now a single negatively charged hydroxide, or hydroxyl ion (OH- ).

In HYDROLYSIS there are numerous secondary chemical reactions, which also produce ionic species with oxidising and disinfecting power, such as ozone (O3), monoatomic oxygen (O1) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

The electronic circuit of our electronic box transforms the current (220 V, 50 Hz) into low voltage, high amperage direct current. This current is supplied to noble metal-activated titanium electrodes placed in the recirculating water in a specially designed holder.

In these non-soluble electrodes, a combination of the most powerful oxidants available for water disinfection is created, thus avoiding the use of chemical products.

If in this treatment we incorporate a very small amount of salt (between 1 and 2gr salt per litre of water) either due to lack of conductivity or because we generally want a tangible residual, we will achieve that the same system also generates a residual of chlorine by saline electrolysis at a low concentration. The products decompose, act and regenerate again. The residual disinfectant generated by electrolysis does not harm the eyes, skin or health of the bather. It does not matter if we run out of salt in the water, as the system will continue disinfecting in HYDROLYSISIS mode. The chlorine generated destroys the organic matter and pathogens present in the water, transforming it back into sodium chloride (common salt).
