Peristaltic pumps work on the principle of peristalsis, which consists of a motor with a central shaft connected to a series of compressor rollers that rotate in a circular motion, as if they were a waterwheel, compressing a flexible tube that surrounds them and through which the liquid flows.

When the shaft is in motion, the compressed parts of the tube move the fluid forward.
