- Everything produced by the electrodes comes together to create sodium hydroxide, hydrogen and chlorine.
- When chlorine comes into contact with water, it forms two substances: hydrochloric acid and hypochlorous acid.
- Hypochlorous acid acts as the main disinfectant by destroying pathogenic algae and bacteria.
- Sodium hydroxide reacts with hydrochloric acid to create salt again.
