Technical characteristics
what is fix a leak?
Fix a Leak is a concentrated blended material designed to seal leaks in virtually any material. Leak repair for all types of pools and tanks including piping systems. Operates within 24 hours. Applicable on acrylic, fibreglass, concrete, wood, vinyl plastic, paint or mosaic.
Tasks prior to dosing the Fix a Leak product.
- Stop the pool filtration system.
- Remove any submerged elements from the pool, such as automatic pool cleaners, manual sweepers, etc. ....
- Turn the filtration system valve to the "recirculation" position (for pools with a flint filter).
- For pools with other types of filter, it is recommended to remove the filtering elements (cartridge or diatomaceous earth) or by-pass the filter before adding FIX A LEAK.
- Shake the bottle before using FIX A LEAK.
how do we apply FIX A LEAK to repair swimming pool leaks?
Cracks in the walls or bottom of the pool: If the exact location of the crack is known, add FIX A LEAK directly to the affected area, otherwise, start up the filtration system and slowly add the recommended dose of FIX A LEAK through the skimmers or, in overflowing pools, directly into the pool near the discharge nozzles to facilitate the homogenisation of the product.
Cracks in pipes: Place the pool cleaner in the deepest part of the pool, connecting it to the "pool cleaner inlet" or to the skimmer (making sure that the hose is free of air).
In this way, we ensure maximum circulation of the product through the pipes. Finally, add the dose of FIX A LEAK through the skimmers.
- Wait 30 minutes and then start up the filtration system until the crack(s) are sealed and no water is leaking. Estimate a minimum time of 24 - 48 hrs.
- Mark the water level and check it after 24 hrs.
- Check for 2 - 3 days that the water level does not drop, thus checking the repair.
- Once the crack(s) have disappeared, put the filtration system in "filtration" position (after reinstalling the filter elements that have been removed during the repair of the leak).
- It may be necessary to repeat the treatment if a complete repair of the leak(s) has not been achieved.
Quantity of Fix a leak (repair pool leak), we have to dose:
- Dosage: Add 1 Lt of FIX A LEAK for every 60 m3 of water.
- Never exceed the dosage of 5 L of FIX A LEAK per 100 m3 of water if you are going to use the pool, spa, etc. without changing the water. In case of using a higher concentration of product, it is recommended to change the water before using the pool, spa, etc.

Muy buen producto para sellar las fisuras que, tarde o temprano, se abren en las paredes y el suelo de la piscina. Hay que repetir el tratamiento cada año, en mi caso, pero es una buena solución al problema.
