The Blue Lagoon Saltwater UV-C is specially developed for the disinfection of salt water. It is therefore the ideal complement to your saltwater chlorinator.

The combination of the Blue Lagoon Saltwater UV-C with your salt water chlorinator will provide you with excellent disinfection and water quality as well as a longer lifetime of your salt water chlorinator, as the UV support can reduce the production rate of the salt water chlorinator.

Thanks to the special white PVC housing, the salt has no corrosive effect. The device comes with an electronic ballast that minimises current fluctuations to protect the lamp.

The bottom connection allows a flexible 360° connection. This is ideal for corner installations, or for combining with other lamps.

Safety

This appliance produces harmful radiation. Direct contact can be hazardous to eyes and skin. Therefore, the operation of the UV-C lamp should only be checked through the transparent parts of the fixture.

why use an Ultraviolet system?

UV-C light is a very powerful germicide, highly effective in eliminating micro-organisms that chlorine treatments are not able to eliminate by themselves.

However, UV-C cannot be used on its own, as although ultraviolet light does a large part of the water disinfection, there will always be contaminating micro-organisms left in the pool.

However, the use of other types of disinfectants would be in a much lower percentage than what would normally be used, since, as we have already mentioned, a large part of the disinfection would be carried out by the ultraviolet lamp.

The main advantage over chlorine or similar treatments is that, as it is not a chemical product, it avoids the problems that the chemical product entails, such as irritation of the eyes, skin and nose, breathing difficulties in children, unpleasant odours, as well as damage to the lining of the swimming pool.
