STARTING AND PRIMING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Fill the filter housing with water up to the level of the suction pipe. Never start the pump without water, as this water is necessary for cooling and lubricating the mechanical seal.
2. Open all suction and delivery valves, as well as the air vent on the filter, if fitted. Any air in the suction line needs to be vented so that it can be evacuated.
3. Start the unit and wait for priming for a certain period of time. Five minutes is not an excessive time for priming (priming depends on the suction lift and the horizontal length of the suction pipe). If the pump does not start or does not prime, see possible faults and solutions.
MAINTENANCE
1. Clean the pre-filter basket regularly; do not knock on it when cleaning. Check the seal of the pre-filter cover and replace it if necessary.
2. The motor shaft is mounted on self-lubricating bearings which do not require further lubrication.
3. Keep the motor clean and dry, and make sure that the ventilation openings are free of any obstruction.
4. Occasionally the mechanical seal may leak and must be replaced.
5. Except for cleaning activities, repairs, overhauls and maintenance must be carried out by an authorised technician of Hayward or a similarly qualified person
