Technical characteristics

what is turbidity?

Turbidity is one of the most important parameters in determining drinking water quality. Once considered an essentially aesthetic characteristic of drinking water, there is now significant evidence that controlling turbidity is a competent protection against pathogens. In natural waters, turbidity measurements are taken for general water quality and compatibility in applications involving aquatic organisms. The control and treatment of wastewater used to be based solely on turbidity control. Nowadays, turbidity measurement at the end of the wastewater treatment process is necessary to verify that the values are within the regulations.

Turbidity of water is an optical property that causes light to be scattered and absorbed, rather than transmitted. The scattering of light passing through a liquid is mainly caused by the suspended solids present. The higher the turbidity, the greater the amount of scattered light. Even a very pure liquid will scatter light to some extent, as no solution has zero turbidity.

The salt chlorinator automatically and effectively disinfects the pool water without the need for chemicals.
Benefits of salt chlorination. Only salt is needed. Avoids irritation. No more chemicals. Reduced maintenance.

Turbidimeter Hanna HS93703C

HS93703C Turbidity meter. This meter uses an infrared light source and a state-of-the-art optical system to provide consistently accurate turbidity measurements.

The two operating ranges (0.00 to 50.00 NTU and 50 to 1000 NTU) allow this meter to be used in any type of application

It has the GLP function, which allows you to recall, at any time, the stored data referring to the last calibration performed.

The light beam passing through the sample is scattered in all directions. The intensity and pattern of the scattered light is affected by many variables, such as the wavelength of the incident light, particle size and shape, refractive index and colour. The optical system of the HS93703 includes an LED and a scattered light detector (90°).
