The Blue Lagoon Spa UV-C 12W is specially designed for high temperatures (+40º), making it ideal for installations such as spas and jacuzzis.

The Blue Lagoon Spa UV-C has a compact size and design, which makes it ideal for the aforementioned installations such as spas and hot tubs, as they are usually installations where space is limited.

The unit comes with a plastic housing as well as an integrated electronic ballast to ensure an efficient and stable power supply.

Safety

This device produces harmful radiation. Direct contact can be hazardous to eyes and skin. Therefore, the operation of the UV-C lamp should only be checked through the transparent parts of the device.

why use an Ultraviolet system?

UV-C light is a very powerful germicide, highly effective in eliminating micro-organisms that chlorine treatments are not able to eliminate by themselves.

However, UV-C cannot be used on its own, as although ultraviolet light does a large part of the water disinfection, there will always be contaminating micro-organisms left in the pool.

However, the use of other types of disinfectants would be in a much lower percentage than what would normally be used, since, as we have already mentioned, a large part of the disinfection would be carried out by the ultraviolet lamp.

The main advantage over chlorine or similar treatments is that, as it is not a chemical product, it avoids the problems that the chemical product entails, such as irritation of the eyes, skin and nose, breathing difficulties in children, unpleasant odours, as well as damage to the lining of the swimming pool.
