PCA 320 Continuous Meter Free or Total Chlorine, pH, Temperature

The chlorine analysers of the Hanna PCA series continuously monitor, control and adjust the chlorine content of a sample stream. Continuous analysis and dosing by colorimetric method: highest precision with DPD reagents.

Chlorine and pH control

The operator can adjust four chlorine levels: one proportional dosing set point, two alarm set points and one minimum dosing level.

All alarms can be activated or deactivated.

The salt chlorinator automatically and effectively disinfects the pool water without the need for chemicals.

Analogue output

Five analogue outputs of 0-10 mV, 0-100 mV, 0-1 V, 4-20 mA or 0-20 mA are available to control external devices, including connection to SCADA systems. The analogue output is fully programmable and can be proportional to chlorine concentration, pH, ORP or temperature value. Analogue output limits are selectable for each parameter.

Alarm and warning system

Users have the ability to enable or disable low and high level alarms for all parameters. The system also offers overdose protection that generates an alarm if something within the system is not working properly. The system will stop processes until the error is corrected by the user.

Measurement and control cycle

The PCA has a control time cycle that can be set by the user according to the dimensions of the controlled system. The measurement process, dosing commands and alarms can be performed according to this cycle time. The cycle time range is from 3 to 90 minutes.

Data storage

The analysers can store up to 3500 readings (at least 7 days at 3-minute sampling intervals) which can be made available for consultation or download. The logged records contain the time stamp, complete information on the parameter values and the alarm status at that time.

Essential requirements to be provided by the client for the commissioning of the PCA: (Only Peninsula and Balearic Islands).

  • 2 220V sockets at a maximum distance of 2m.
  • 1 additional 220V socket in case of GPRS module
  • Manhole or drain for Ø 20 mm pipe at a distance of less than 2 m.
  • ½" socket for the sample to enter the PCA 320 (at a maximum distance of 1 m.). Always after the booster set.
  • The sample must enter the equipment at a pressure of 0.5 bar, otherwise a pressure reducer must be installed (optional elements).
  • Injection of ½ for each dosing pump in the case of injection in pipes (always after the sampling of the equipment, trying to move the injection point away from the sampling point)
  • In industrial water, mainly from cooling towers, it will be necessary to carry out a physical-chemical analysis.
