Technical characteristics

The 3-micron mesh filter is the component that makes all the difference in the filtration quality of your Zodiac Freedom Lite. As part of its two-stage filtration system, the 180-micron coarse mesh traps leaves, insects, and larger debris, while this 3-micron fine mesh handles what the naked eye can barely see: suspended dust, pollen, the finest sand, and algae spores that cloud the water and leave that grayish film on the bottom.

With use, the fine mesh suffers the most: it becomes clogged by accumulated particles, and over time, the fibers wear out or become distorted. When that happens, the robot continues to move, but it stops “refining” the water, and you’ll notice that the water isn’t as crystal-clear as it was on the first day. Replacing this mesh restores the unit’s original filtration capacity and prevents fine particles from returning to the tank.

This is an original Zodiac replacement part, designed to fit perfectly into the Freedom Lite’s 4-liter tank. Replacement takes just seconds and requires no tools: simply remove the filter through the robot’s transparent window, detach the mesh, and install the new one.

Maintenance tip: Rinse the fine mesh with pressurized water after each cycle and inspect it against the light. If you see shiny spots, broken fibers, or if it doesn’t regain its shape after rinsing, it’s time to replace it. In pools with a lot of pollen or soil runoff, it’s a good idea to keep a spare on hand during peak season.
