Technical characteristics

Bromine tablets Quimicamp Bromogene (5 kg) 204105

Broad spectrum biocide for disinfection, bacteria, algae and fungi control in swimming pools and spas. Product especially recommended for use in spas, indoor and heated pools.

what are the characteristics of Bromine?

Bromine is an excellent disinfectant for any type of water, even high Ph. It is very effective against bacteria, viruses, fungi and eliminates organic impurities in the water. It is especially indicated in places where the smell of chlorine bothers and is ideal for water with high temperature, such as spas and indoor heated pools. Its main advantages are that it does not irritate the eyes and mucous membranes, has a high tolerance to pH variations and does not smell of chlorine!

The combination of bromine with organic amines results in compounds called bromamines (NHBr2) which, unlike chloramines (combination of chlorine with organic amines), do not diminish the disinfectant effectiveness of bromine.

Bromamines do not cause eye irritation or unpleasant odours.

No smell of chlorine. High pH tolerance. High disinfectant and oxidising power. Ideal for spas and heated pools
A dosing device is necessary, please visit our control/dosage section.

how and how much Bromine is dosed?

With the filter running, place 6-7 tablets per 50 m3 of water in the skimmers or floating dosers. Maintain filtration for 6-8 hours.

We recommend using a dosing device (brominator). The doses are indicative depending on the temperature, hours of sunshine, number of bathers, amount of organic matter in the water, etc..

The recommended values of Residual Bromine are as follows:

POOL TYPE RECOMMENDED BROMINE LEVEL
Private Pools: 1.0 - 3.0 ppm
Private Spas: 2.0 - 4.0 ppm
Public Pools: 3.0 - 5.0 ppm
Public Spas: 4.0 - 6.0 ppm

This value will be easily measured with a bromine and pH analyser kit.
