HI7014 Free Chlorine Checker

HI981074 pH and Tº Tester

Two bowls with lids

The HANNA HI701 free chlorine checker is a digital colourimeter for chlorine testing. With the HI7014 chlorine meter you can easily, accurately and cost-effectively measure free chlorine. Free chlorine is the active form of chlorine used to disinfect drinking water, swimming pools and spas.

The benefits of chlorine on water are many, and it is precisely these benefits that make the use of chlorine in drinking water tanks and swimming pool maintenance so important. First and foremost, it is a powerful germicide, reducing the level of pathogenic micro-organisms in the water to levels that are almost impossible to measure. Chlorination allows the control of taste and odours by reducing them, this is due to the fact that chlorine oxidises substances that occur naturally, we are referring to the secretions of smelly algae and odours of vegetation that is in the process of decomposition; chlorine gives water odourless attributes and favourably modifies its taste.

With the HANNA HI981074 digital pH and temperature tester, you can measure the pH of whatever you need in a simple and fast way and obtain accurate results. In fact, the HI981074 is used by thousands of people all over the world to control pH in laboratories and industrial companies, as well as in agriculture, fish farms, aquariums, food production and quality control, swimming pools and spas.

The HI981074 Pool Line pH/Tº Tester HI981074 is ideal for checking pH levels in swimming pools, hot tubs and spas. Accurate pH readings are essential to ensure that chlorine is predominantly in the hypochlorous acid form rather than the hypochlorite form, which is less effective at killing bacteria. The ideal pH for a pool is between 7.2 and 7.4.

The phmeter's housing is more robust and its design is ergonomic. In addition, its new design features a larger, more visible display for easy reading from any angle.

Over time and with use, the junctions become clogged or contaminated, and if there is no possibility of replacement, there is no other option but to dispose of the pH meter altogether. However, thanks to the removable fibre electrode junction, the HANNA HI981074 pH meter has a longer service life than other pH meters. The junction is 2cm long and when it is contaminated or no longer measures effectively, we can replace it with a new one, thus extending the life of the electrode and thus the life of the tester. In addition, all pH meters and instruments in the pHep series have a cover to protect the electrode.

how do I use the HI7014 Checker?

Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI7014 provides fast and accurate results in a few simple steps:

STEP 1. Zero the checker with your water sample.

STEP 2. Add reagent to the cuvette.

STEP 3. Insert the cuvette into the Checker.

STEP 4. Press the button and read the results.

In the "Documents" tab you can download the full manual where you will find a more extensive explanation and other tips for use.

HANNA checkers are small, portable and, above all, provide more accurate results than typical chemical test kits. Offering improved technology, their simple design allows for easy, uncomplicated measurement.

These digital photometers or test kits serve as a bridge between very simple test kits and professional instrumentation such as a calibrated photometer.

Conventional test kits are not accurate and depend entirely on the user viewing the colour, which is why HANNA has digitised this measurement and achieved accurate digital pocket colourimeters.

The innovative shape of the Checker makes it fit in the palm of the hand and in the pocket. In addition, the LCD display is easy to read, with an automatic shut-off function in case for some reason you forget to turn it off.
